'La Villita' will be Retail Center Attached to Whole Foods Market

By Armando Landin

Whole Foods Market is scheduled to open in West El Paso in late 2016 and will anchor an attached retail center called "La Villita." The center will include retail, restaurant, and office space at the corner of North Mesa Street and Pitt Street.

La Villita will include approximately 26,500 square feet of retail space, 6,900 square feet for restaurants, and 12,000 square feet for upper level office space.

The just over 45,000 square feet of total space at La Villita will be divided between structures on both sides of a curved drive leading to Whole Foods. The office space will be located on the second floor of the southern structure.
In this site plan, Whole Foods Market is on the left while La Villita is on the right. The center should open later this year in West El Paso. (RJL Real Estate)

The new shopping center looks to have a mini-lifestyle-center feel, as the drive can be seen as a main street with shops on both sides. Renderings show a mix of materials and facade depth.

Whole Foods Market itself will be 50,000 square feet in size, which includes a 1,900 square foot balcony and 3,100 square foot mezzanine.

  1. Another nice project for the west side of town the retail center that will be called La Villita which is the name of another former place in downtown El Paso that was called La Villita. The original La Villita was located at the corner of North Oregon and Wyoming and it had a distinctive village image consisting of Victorian setting of small shops.Same location where the new Hunt tower is going to get built.

  2. There should be stand alone Sephora open in this new shopping center! The west side of El paso needs one.
