Retail Roundup: Tilted Kilt to Open in West El Paso

Chain Brings Sports Pub Experience with Scottish Twist

A national sports pub chain will open a new location in West El Paso this summer. The Tilted Kilt, a Celtic-themed restaurant and bar whose servers wear Scottish kilts, will open its sixth Texas location in the Sun City.

"Tilted Kilt is ecstatic to be opening this new location in El Paso and continue to expand across the market," states Teo Regalado, the Tilted Kilt franchise owner in El Paso, in a press release.

"The Tilted Kilt concept continues to flourish and grow as people seek more convenient, casual dining options with a unique ambiance, innovative menu options and unbeatable hospitality."

According to the press release, the sports pub’s theme will combine “Celtic d├ęcor, humorous and slightly bawdy limericks and sexy cast members with great food, drinks and a fun entertaining atmosphere.”

Diners can expect traditional pub food such as fish and chips as well as “creations” like a Pub Fried Egg Burger and Gaelic Chicken. The eatery will also specialize in “beers from around the world.”

The chain currently has 94 locations in North America, with 20 more in development. The concept was developed in 2003 at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.

The first El Paso location will open up at 955 Sunland Park Drive, west of Interstate 10, near the Holiday Inn Sunland Park and Bob-O’s Family Fun Center. There are plans for an additional two El Paso locations in the works. No opening date has been revealed, though it should be sometime this summer, according to the press release.
