New Downtown Bank Now Open

United Bank Transforms Former Garage

United Bank of El Paso del Norte ( opened its flagship downtown branch this week after years of planning and construction that transformed a one-time parking structure into a new office building. The bank’s new location is its fourth but will become its headquarters, located at 401 E. Main.

Construction began last year on the three-level parking garage to mold it into a five-story hybrid parking/office building of Spanish colonial design. A bell tower now stands at the building’s southeast corner.

The first floor of the new building houses the United Bank location. Office space on the upper levels will be available for lease.
